Serving a building site continuously, from a fixed point.
Erection, dismantling, footprint:
it is justified only over time.

01 Use

What it does

Silhouette of a tower crane: a base fixed to the ground, a vertical lattice mast, and at the top a horizontal jib balanced by a counter-jib carrying the counterweight. A trolley runs along the jib and lowers the hook plumb where it is wanted. Diagrammatic silhouette, without dimensions and not to scale.
What sets it apart:
it does not move — it is the site that comes to it.

Serving a building site continuously from a fixed point.

What it does not do. Erection, dismantling, footprint:
it is justified only over time.

02 Fitting
A tower crane standing on a building site: vertical lattice mast, horizontal jib balanced by a counter-jib carrying counterweight blocks, distribution trolley on the jib and hook suspended above the structure under construction.
The blocks on the counter-jib balance the load:
they set what the jib can carry, and at what distance.

What decides its use

  • The volume and the distance They are what decide whether this machine has a place on the site, or whether another will do the same work for less.
  • The room available A machine that cannot manoeuvre does not produce, whatever its capacity.
  • The rate of the neighbouring machines It is rarely calculated and often costs more than the hire:
a machine that waits costs as much as a machine that works.
  • Transport to the worksite It governs what can actually be sent, and it is settled before everything else.
03 Reference point

One model, as a reference point

The values below hold for this model only.
They are there to give an order of magnitude to anyone who has none, not to serve as a reference.

Potain MDT 219 J10
Maximum capacity
10 t
Load at the jib end
1,9 t
Maximum reach
65 m
Height under hook
up to 70.4 m depending on the base

Caveat. The gap between 10 t at the closest point and 1.9 t at the jib end says it all:
on a crane as on an excavator, it is the reach that governs, never the capacity shown.

These values are those of one precise model, at one precise date. They do not describe a category:
there are no characteristics of a compact loader in general, there are those of the model you have.
They change from one year to the next and never replace the data sheet of your machine.

Have your machine checked.

Give us the exact model and the work you have in mind.
We check the coupler, the flow, the pressure and the capacity on your machine, and we tell you what fits on it — and what does not.
