Agricultural tractor

A tool carrier in the literal sense:
three-point linkage, power take-off, hydraulics.
A whole world of hitching, which is not that of the excavator and does not connect to it without an intermediate part.

Other names for this machine: tractor, 'the tractor'.

01 Use

What it does

Silhouette of a farm tractor: small front wheels, very large rear wheels, high cab, and at the rear a three-point linkage carrying a tool, with the power take-off shaft. Diagrammatic silhouette, without dimensions and not to scale.
What sets it apart:
it pulls and it drives — two functions that decide the tools it can carry.
Diagrammatic silhouette, without dimensions and not to scale.

Pulling, driving, carrying.
A three-point linkage, a power take-off and hydraulics make it a tool carrier in the literal sense, with its own world of hitches.

What it does not do. Its tools are not those of an excavator.
Going from one to the other needs a mounting plate or an adapter, not a quick coupler.

02 Fitting
A farm tractor hitched to a plough, ploughing a field in hedged countryside; the farm and its buildings can be seen in the background.
Its power take-off and its linkage make everything:
they are what decides the tools it can carry.
Synthetic image.
A farm tractor fitted with a front loader lifting a round bale of straw, in a farmyard.
The front loader makes it a tool carrier:
what it lifts in front counts as much as what it pulls behind.

What governs the fitting of an attachment

  • The category of the three-point linkage The categories are not interchangeable.
It is the first point of compatibility, before any consideration of power.
  • The power take-off Its speed and its direction of rotation govern the working of the driven tool.
  • The number and flow of the hydraulic spool valves A tool that needs two simultaneous functions needs two spool valves.
  • The lift capacity It is read at the ball ends and falls off as soon as you move away from them.
  • Connecting an excavator tool It is not direct.
It goes through a mounting plate or an adapter, and that part is part of the study.

These values are those of one precise model, at one precise date. They do not describe a category:
there are no characteristics of a compact loader in general, there are those of the model you have.
They change from one year to the next and never replace the data sheet of your machine.

Have your machine checked.

Give us the exact model and the work you have in mind.
We check the coupler, the flow, the pressure and the capacity on your machine, and we tell you what fits on it — and what does not.
