Mixing bucket

The mixing bucket makes the concrete or the mortar in the bucket, at the point of use.
It answers three situations:
difficult access, small volumes, and a need spread over the day.

Other names for this tool: mixer bucket, concrete-mixer bucket, excavator mixer, concrete bucket.
Ranges recorded carry the designations PM100, PM200 and PM300, for machines of 2.5 to 8 tonnes.

01 Use

What it is for

On the left, the concrete is mixed in the bucket and poured directly at the point of use. On the right, the paddles mix cement, aggregate and water, batch after batch. Computer-generated image.

What sets it apart:
the volume is calculated on what has to be poured per shift, not on the whole job.

Hydraulically driven blades mix the cement, the aggregate and the water inside the bucket.
The concrete is produced in batches, then tipped directly where it has to be poured.
No mixer lorry, no concrete mixer, no intermediate transport.

The same tool serves for soil stabilisation with a binder — work which, by its nature, has to be done at the point of use and cannot be delivered.
It is a use that is less well known and often more profitable than the concrete itself.

The real constraint is not the tool, it is the supply. Water, cement and aggregate have to arrive at the point of pouring.
It is that logistics that decides whether the operation is profitable, not the capacity of the bucket.

Why the flow counts more than elsewhere

Mixing is a continuous function:
the blades turn throughout the batch.
It is not an occasional movement like closing a bucket.

A machine that is only just adequate on flow will still produce concrete — but slowly, and with a less homogeneous mix.
Here again, the tool works without keeping up the rate announced.

02 Key technical data

On which machine?

A mixing bucket fits a machine from 2,5 to 8 t.
It weighs from 180 to 2 000 kg depending on the model.
It attaches to all quick couplers, via a mounting plate, or directly on the pins.

What the tool does

It mixes materials directly in the bucket.
Its capacity ranges from 100 to 2 000 l.
Its maximum load ranges from 240 to 4 800 kg, to be checked with you.
It is made of wear-resistant steel, to be checked with you.

What is needed on the hydraulic side

A continuous-flow auxiliary circuit: from 40 to 250 l/min, at 130 to 210 bar depending on the model.

03 Your study

Have your machine checked.

Give us your excavator model, the volume to be poured per shift and the access to the site.
If it is soil stabilisation, say so:
the calculation is different.

What we need to answer you
  • Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
  • The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
  • The coupler in place Its system and its class.
  • The work The use, and the material.

Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

04 Choice

What determines the choice

  • 01 — The volume per batch It is calculated on the volume to be poured per shift, not on the total volume of the job.
It is the point where the sizing is decided.
  • 02 — The flow available, continuously A sustained function throughout the batch.
A peak flow is not enough.
  • 03 — The loaded weight Bucket full of concrete, it is far above the empty weight.
It is that weight that counts for stability and reach.
  • 04 — The material to be mixed Concrete, mortar, sand-cement mix or soil treated with a binder impose neither the same mixing time nor the same wear on the blades.
05 Check

What is checked before ordering

  • The continuous flow really available Measured on the machine, in working conditions.
  • The loaded weight in relation to the load chart Bucket full, at the end of the arm:
that is the worst case, and it is the one of the real work.
  • The organisation of the supply Access to the area, a water reserve, cement stored under cover.
That point is settled before buying, not after.
  • Cleaning A mixer that is badly rinsed sets solid.
The constraint is real and is planned for at the end of the shift.
  • The interface Coupler type and size, or pin dimensions.
The tool is supplied with the matching plate.
