Planting bucket
Narrow, deep, often V-shaped or half-moon.
It opens a planting pit:
not a cylindrical hole, a pit.
Other names for this tool: planting bucket, pit bucket, V planting bucket, hedge bucket.

What it is for
Right: for a hedge, it opens a continuous trench rather than one hole per plant.
What sets it apart:
planting calls for a volume of loosened soil, and not only a hole.

Planting calls for a volume of loosened soil, and not only a hole.
A planting bucket opens the pit, brings the soil back up and allows it to be picked up again to put back round the root ball, without fetching another tool.
In a hedge or a row, it also opens a continuous trench:
it is faster than one hole per plant, and the plants take more evenly.
The question of glazing the walls arises, and landscapers ask it. A tool that glazes the wall of a pit in clay ground can hinder the roots from getting out.
It is one of the points where the bucket and the auger are not equal, and it is settled on the real soil. See the hydraulic auger.
On which machine?
It fits a mini-excavator and the small classes.
It adapts to all couplers, via a mounting plate.
The exact class and the coupler details: we calculate them with you for your machine.
What the tool does
The volume, the cutting width and the weight of the bucket: we calculate them with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It needs no hydraulic connection: it is a passive tool.
A powered version connects to the hydraulics: what it needs, we calculate it with you for your machine.
Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Don't have these figures?
A photo of the machine is enough to start.
Have your machine checked.
Tell us what you are planting, how many plants and in what soil.
Between a planting bucket and an auger, it is the soil that most often settles it.
- Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
- The coupler in place Its system and its class.
- The work The use, and the material.
Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The soil
Clay, sandy, stony:
it decides the tool as much as the plant does. - 02 — The pit volume expected It comes from the size of the plant, not from the tool's catalogue.
- 03 — A single plant or a row A row is dealt with as a continuous trench, a single plant as a pit.
-
04 — Access
Planting is often done where the machine gets in badly:
the size of the tool counts as much as its shape.
What is checked before ordering
- The number of plants and their size They give the total volume to be opened, so the machine.
- The nature of the soil and its bearing capacity Waterlogged soil changes the whole job, not only the tool.
- The declaration of buried services It is made before digging, without exception.
- The interface Coupler designation or pin dimensions.
