Ram protection
it is the polish of the rod that makes the seal.

A ram rod does not forgive.
One impact, one scratch, and the seal leaks:
the machine stops for a part that is not repaired on site.
Other names for this tool: rod protection, ram guard, ram cover, bucket ram protection.

What it is for
Right: on the bare rod, a scratch makes the oil leak at the seal.
What sets it apart:
it does not protect a part, it protects a surface — it is the polish of the rod that makes the seal.

one scratch, and the wiper seal holds nothing back any more.

Equipment rams are exposed by design:
they work in the area where rubble falls, where blocks rub, where branches pass.
The protection is a cover or a cradle that comes over the rod and the body without hindering the travel.
The value is simple to assess:
it is compared with the cost of a replaced ram and above all with that of a machine stopped in the middle of a job.
In sorting, demolition and forestry, the decision is quickly made.
A badly designed protection traps more than it protects. A cover that holds the rubble makes it work against the rod instead of letting it fall, and a protection that prevents visual checking delays the detection of a weep.
What counts is the shape and the way it clears itself, not the thickness of the plate.
On which machine?
Ram protection applies to all machines.
It is mounted on the boom and the dipper arm.
What the tool does
Its role: to protect the machine's rams.
The rams to be protected and the weight of each guard: we calculate them with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
No hydraulic connection is needed.
Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Don't have these figures?
A photo of the machine is enough to start.
Have your machine checked.
Tell us which machine and what work, and whether you have already replaced a ram.
A photograph of the complete equipment lets us see what is really exposed.
- Your machine Its exact make and model.
- What is fitted What equips the machine today.
- The work What the machine is used for.
Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The real exposure of the rams
It depends on the work:
ordinary earthmoving and demolition do not attack in the same way. -
02 — The rams concerned
Bucket, dipper arm, boom:
they are not exposed to the same degree. - 03 — Clearing the material A protection has to empty itself, otherwise it builds up.
- 04 — Access for checking and maintenance A grease point made unreachable is no longer greased.
What is checked before ordering
- The rams actually damaged so far The history of your breakdowns says where the problem is.
- The geometry of the equipment A protection is drawn for the machine, not for a family of machines.
- The full travel of the rams It is checked with the protection fitted, at both end stops.
- Access to the grease nipples and the fittings It has to remain possible without removing anything.
