Fuel transfer tank

On the left, the tank secured on a van refuels the excavator through its hose and nozzle, the ground stays clean. On the right, without a tank, refuelling is done with cans and a funnel, the fuel runs onto the track and the ground. Computer-generated image.

A closed tank, with its pump and nozzle.
It brings the fuel right up to the machine,
and refuelling is done on site.

Other names for this product: fuel transport tank, mobile diesel tank, refuelling tank, transportable tank, mobile fuel station, mobile diesel bowser.

Right: without a tank, refuelling is done with cans and a funnel, the fuel runs onto the track and the ground.
What sets it apart:
it brings the fuel right up to the machine and transfers it through a pump and a nozzle, with no cans to empty by hand.

A fuel transfer tank carries the fuel to the site and refuels the machine on the spot.
Its pump, electric or manual, draws the fuel from the tank and pushes it through a hose to the nozzle:
the excavator does not leave the site, and nobody carries cans.

It is loaded on a van, a flatbed or a trailer, or it stays at the site base and the machines come to it.
Some tanks have a meter, which measures what each machine receives.

The double wall takes the place of a bund tray on the models certified for it:
to be confirmed on the model's certificate.
Without a double wall, a bund tray under the tank plays that role.

Transporting fuel is regulated. A fuel tank loaded on a vehicle falls under the regulations on the transport of dangerous goods:
what applies depends on the tank, the quantity carried and the vehicle.
The usable capacity depends on the model, not on a generic figure, and the rule is checked before the first journey.

02 What we check with you

On which machine?

A fuel transfer tank does not fit on any machine: it is loaded on a vehicle or stays at the site base.
The consumption of your machines, their fuel and the access to their tank: we calculate them with you for your machine.

What the tool does

It is used for refuelling your machines.
Depending on the model, it is single- or double-walled.
Its capacity and the hose length: we calculate them with you for your machine.

What is needed on the hydraulic side

Transfer is by an electric or manual pump, with hose and nozzle.
The pump flow: we calculate it with you for your machine.

Your study sets the exact value for your machine.

Don't have these figures?
A photo of the machine is enough to start.

03 Your study

Have your site checked.

Describe the machines to refuel and how the tank will come to the site.
State the vehicle that will carry it, if there is one.

What we need to answer you
  • The machines Their type, their number and their fuel.
  • Consumption What the fleet uses per day, even roughly.
  • Transport Van, flatbed, trailer, or tank stationed at the site base.
  • The pump's power supply Vehicle battery, site power or manual pump.
  • Monitoring A meter, if each refuelling must be recorded.

Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

04 Choice

What determines the choice

  • 01 — Transported or stationary On a vehicle going from machine to machine, or at the site base:
the tank and its transport rules are chosen with this use.
  • 02 — Capacity Depending on the fleet's consumption and how often it refuels:
a tank that is too big weighs on the vehicle, one that is too small has to be refilled often.
  • 03 — The pump Electric on the vehicle battery, mains-powered, or manual:
the flow and the ease of refuelling are chosen with it.
  • 04 — Single or double wall Depending on where the tank waits between refuellings:
the double wall holds the fuel if the inner wall leaks, on the models certified for it:
to be confirmed on the model's certificate.
05 Check

What is checked before ordering

  • Transport rules What applies to transport is checked with the tank, the quantity and the vehicle, before the first journey.
  • The vehicle's payload The full tank is checked against the payload of the vehicle carrying it.
  • The fuel The pump, the hose and the nozzle are checked against the fuel carried.
  • Securing The tank is secured on the vehicle by the points provided for that.
