Grab bucket and crocodile fork for loaders

A farm loader tears a block of grass silage from the face of a concrete bunker silo, the toothed arm of its grab bucket closed over the material; nobody is visible.
The arm closes, the block stays whole as far as the trough.

A bucket or a fork, and a toothed arm that closes over it.
They tear out silage and manure,
and hold them as far as the trough, the trailer or the heap.

01 Use

What it is for

On the left, the toothed arm pinches the silage against the bottom, nothing falls on the way. On the right, the crocodile fork closes its arm on the strawy manure. Computer-generated image.

What sets it apart:
the upper arm pinches the material against the bottom or the tines, nothing falls on the way.

The grab bucket is a loader bucket topped with a toothed arm that cylinders close over the material.
The crocodile fork replaces the bottom with a row of forged tines, screwed into conical sockets, under a gripping arm that opens wide.

This is the tool for unloading bunker silos, cleaning out straw yards and loading manure.
The bucket holds short-chopped silage and unloads close to the walls, the fork spears strawy manure and long materials, and the compact versions equip small loaders and skid steer loaders.

A closed grab also holds what it should not. Packed silage or wet manure: the real load is judged at the first tear-out, not from the volume of the bucket.
The useful capacity depends on the model, not on a generic figure.

02 What we check with you

On which machine?

A grab bucket fits a farm loader, a telehandler, a wheeled loader or a mini loader, not an excavator.
It attaches to a Euro hitch or to another hitch standard, depending on the model.
The exact hitch and the loader's lifting capacity: we calculate them with you for your machine.

What the tool does

It grips and sorts materials with its grapple.
For example, for a width of 1 050 mm: weight from 200 to 330 kg, maximum opening from 1 000 to 1 370 mm.
It is also available in a crocodile-fork version.
Its weight: we calculate it with you for your machine.

What is needed on the hydraulic side

The grapple needs a double-acting hydraulic control on the loader.
The number of connections for the third function: we calculate it with you for your machine.

03 Your study

Have your equipment checked.

Describe what you take, silage or manure, and the machine that will carry the grab.
Specify the height of the silo face.

What we need to answer you
  • Your loader Its hitch: Euro, or another.
  • Lifting The lifting capacity of the loader.
  • The 3rd function Present or not.
  • The work The use.

Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

04 Choice

What determines the choice

  • 01 — Bucket or fork Short-chopped silage and pasty manure are taken with the bucket,
strawy manure, straw and long materials with the fork.
  • 02 — The workload Light daily use or intensive tearing out:
the heavy-duty versions have a reinforced scraper, tines and bottom, and wear strips.
  • 03 — The machine and the hitch Loader, telehandler, wheel loader, skid steer loader, Euro hitch:
the grab is chosen with the machine that carries it, full and raised.
  • 04 — The opening of the arm Height of the silo face, thickness of the manure:
a wide opening takes more with each pass.
05 Check

What is checked before ordering

  • The capacity of the loader It is checked with the bucket full of the heaviest material, grab closed and arms raised.
  • The hydraulics One double-acting control is required:
we check that the machine controls the grab in addition to the loader.
  • The hitch Euro hitch or loader, wheel loader or telehandler coupler:
we check that the coupling is that of the machine.
  • The scraper and the tines They wear on contact with the ground and the concrete:
we check that they can be replaced without changing the whole tool.
