Circular-saw hedge trimmer
Several circular saws in line on a bar.
The saw cutter trims a whole face
in a single pass, and it trims it cleanly — where a mulcher would tear.
Other names for this tool: saw trimmer, disc shears, circular-saw hedge trimmer, trimming lamier, saw cutter bar, trimming bar.

What it is for
Right: gone over with a mulcher, the same hedge is left with shattered, torn branches.
What sets it apart:
a saw cuts the fibre through, a mulcher shatters it — and the wound does not heal the same way.

Synthetic video.
The discs all turn in the same plane.
By moving the bar along a
hedge or a row of trees, you obtain a straight trimmed face, vertical or
horizontal depending on the orientation given by the arm.
A model recorded is 1.80 m of cutting length, handles up to 40 mm of diameter, and fits on machines of 2.6 to 8 t.
It is the quality of cut that sets it apart. A saw cuts
the fibre through; a mulcher shatters it.
On a plant you want to keep — a hedgerow,
a row of roadside trees, an orchard — a clean cut heals and
grows again.
A torn cut becomes infected.
On which machine?
It fits machines from 1 to 8 t, to be checked with you.
Its bracket adjusts from horizontal to vertical; the heavy-duty series is attached by a central coupler.
The coupler system: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What the tool does
It cuts over a length of 1,5 or 1,8 m, up to 40 mm in diameter.
Its weight: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It connects to the machine's breaker line.
It needs from 20 to 30 l/min on a 1 to 1,5 t machine, to be checked with you.
On a 2 to 3,5 t machine, it needs from 40 to 60 l/min, to be checked with you.
The pressure: we calculate it with you for your machine.

Have your machine checked.
Give us your excavator model, the height of the hedges and the annual length.
Tell us also whether you have to keep the plant or only contain it:
that is what separates the saw trimmer from the rotary mulcher.

- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
- The coupler in place Its system and its class.

Pruning bar
Principle — the name covers several tools: a chain bar, aligned saws or a shear blade.
Use — start from the work to be done at height: that work is what designates the tool. -
Circular pruning saw
Principle — a single toothed disc that cuts through a branch or a trunk in one pass.
Use — it cuts piece by piece, at height and from a distance, to clear a road envelope or a line.
a straight, clean plane of cut.
That is what the mulcher cannot do.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The length of the bar
It fixes the height trimmed in one pass.
Longer goes faster over a length, but weighs more at the end of the arm and manoeuvres less well near an obstacle. -
02 — The permissible diameter\
A model recorded cuts up to 40 mm.
That figure is checked on the largest\ branches to be dealt with, never on the average of the hedge. -
03 — The flow, held throughout the pass
All the discs turn at the same time.
A flow that is only just enough makes them slow down on contact, the cut becomes untidy, and that is exactly what you came to avoid. -
04 — What is done with the arisings
The saw trimmer cuts and lets fall.
On a road in use or a plot under cultivation, gathering is part of the job and has to be planned for.
Saw trimmer, rotary mulcher or pruning saw? The saw trimmer
trims a plane cleanly.
The
rotary mulcher mulches volume and
leaves it on the ground.
The pruning saw cuts
one branch at a time, with precision.
Three tools, three
trades.
What is checked before ordering
- The auxiliary line and its continuous flow The tool turns for the whole length of the work. See the 7 criteria.
-
The weight and the overhang
A 1.80 m bar often works with the arm extended and raised:
it is the most unfavourable position for stability. - The height to be reached It depends on the arm as much as on the tool, and the weight at the end reduces it.
-
The interface
Coupler type and size, or pin dimensions.
The tool is supplied with the matching plate — see the couplers.
