Dipper arm extension
that is reach gained, and force lost.
Synthetic image.
It is the simplest way to gain reach.
It is also the quickest way to lose load at the end:
the two go together, always.
Other names for this tool: arm extension, dipper extension, dipper spacer, equipment extension.

What it is for
Right: a heavy load at the end of the extension makes the machine tip up.
What sets it apart:
it is the simplest way to gain reach, and the quickest way to lose load at the end.
Computer-generated image.
It is inserted between the dipper arm and the tool, or replaces the original dipper arm with a longer one.
The gain is immediate and the outlay bears no comparison with that of a long-reach boom:
that is what makes it tempting.
It has its field:
gaining a few steps of reach or depth on a one-off job, without changing machine.
Outside that field, it becomes a part that fatigues everything behind it.
An extension lengthens the lever arm without adding anything to the machine. The manufacturer's load chart no longer covers this configuration, the forces on the pins and the rams increase, and the behaviour at the end is no longer the one the driver knows.
An extension fitted without reworking the balance of the whole is a decision, not an accessory. See the additional counterweight.
On which machine?
The extension suits all machines.
It is mounted on the dipper arm, and the coupler is refitted at the end of the extension.
The class and the mounting details: we calculate them with you for your machine.
What the tool does
It extends the machine's dipper arm.
The length, the reach at ground level, the depth reached and the weight: we calculate them with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It needs no power source: the existing lines are extended.
Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Don't have these figures?
A photo of the machine is enough to start.
Have your machine checked.
Tell us what you are short of today:
reach, depth, or height.
And tell us whether it is for one job or for every day — the answer is not the same.
- Your machine Its exact make and model.
- What is fitted What equips the machine today.
- The work What the machine is used for.
Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The gain aimed at
Reach, depth, or dumping height:
these are not the same extensions. - 02 — The weight of the tools used The heaviest bucket in the fleet decides, not the usual bucket.
- 03 — Permanent or occasional A removable extension and a permanent extension do not raise the same questions.
-
04 — The balance of the whole
Lengthening moves the centre of gravity forward:
the question of ballast comes right after.
What is checked before ordering
- The machine and its original equipment Exact model, length of the dipper arm fitted.
- The load chart, at the reach actually used Bucket full, arm extended, on the ground of the site.
- Lengthening the hoses A lengthened line must stay protected and properly routed.
- The manufacturer's position Modifying load-bearing equipment is not done behind their back.
