Long-reach boom
what counts here is the bank that is not loaded.
Synthetic image.
It reaches far, further than an original boom.
And as it lengthens, what it can carry decreases:
it is the same movement, seen from both sides.
Other names for this tool: long reach boom, long arm, long-reach equipment, lengthened boom.

What it is for
Right: at the same spot, the standard boom only reaches the edge.
What sets it apart:
what you are buying is a geometry, not a power — the pump and the upperstructure do not change.

Reach replaces the approach that cannot be made.
Synthetic video.
It replaces the original equipment with a longer assembly, to reach what is not accessible otherwise:
the bottom of a basin, the far bank of a ditch, the foot of an embankment from the haul road.
The machine stays where it can stand, and it is the equipment that goes to the work.
What you are buying is a geometry, not a power.
The engine, the pump and the upperstructure do not change:
only the lever arm changes, and it changes the wrong way for everything to do with load and stability.
The load chart collapses at the end of a long boom. A tool the machine carries without difficulty at its foot becomes unacceptable at maximum reach, and the limit is no longer the hydraulic force but tipping.
Lengthening, adding weight at the end and balancing are three sides of the same problem:
they are dealt with together, never one after another. See the additional counterweight.
On which machine?
The long-reach boom fits machines from 12 to 90 t, to be checked with you.
The counterweight needed: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What the tool does
It is mounted in place of the original boom and dipper arm.
The coupler fits at the end of the boom.
Boom and dipper arm lengths, reach, depth and recommended bucket: we calculate them with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
The boom itself needs no power.
Figures taken from 2 models on the market.
Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Rounded values, taken from the models we track.

What is missing, and the value for your machine, are worked out with you.
Have your machine checked.
Tell us what you have to reach, from where, and with what tool on the end.
Those three pieces of information are enough to say whether a long boom is the right answer, or whether the right answer is another machine.
- Your machine Its exact make and model.
- What is fitted What equips the machine today.
- The work What the machine is used for.

What determines the choice
- 01 — The reach actually needed Measured from where the machine can stand, not from the edge of the hole.
- 02 — The weight of the tool that will go on the end It is what decides, before the boom does.
-
03 — The balance of the machine
A long boom moves the centre of gravity forward:
the question of ballast arises in the same movement. -
04 — Transport and folding down
Long equipment is dismantled, loaded and reassembled:
that time counts in the reckoning.
What is checked before ordering
- The manufacturer's load chart with this equipment That of the original machine no longer applies.
- The working position and the nature of the ground There is no such thing as maximum reach on ground that gives way.
- The compatibility of the hydraulic lines They have to be lengthened, and a lengthened line loses in responsiveness.
-
Where the liability lies
Modifying a machine's equipment binds whoever does it:
it is settled with the manufacturer.
