Snow blade
A wide blade that pushes the snow to the side.
Its usual carrier is not
an excavator:
it is a loader, a tractor or a lorry.
On an excavator, it serves
the accesses those machines cannot reach.
Other names for this tool: snow clearing blade, V-plough, angling blade, excavator-mounted snowplough, skewed blade, clearing blade.

What it is for
Right: on a long road, a loader with a front blade clears snow much faster.
What sets it apart:
mounted on an excavator, the arm reaches what a front-mounted tool carrier cannot approach.

The blade pushes the snow ahead of it and, if it is skewed, sends it off
to the side in a single pass.
On a run of road, it is output that
counts; on a yard or a car park, it is manoeuvrability.
That is where the point of fitting it on an excavator lies:
the arm reaches what a front-mounted
tool carrier cannot approach — the back of a safety barrier, a loading dock, a fire-service
access, a passage between two buildings, a snow-covered embankment.
Let us say it plainly:
this is not an excavator's tool, except in specific cases.
Clearing snow along a road is done with a loader, a tractor or a lorry, and
far faster.
The blade on an excavator is justified on two points only:
the constrained access — the back of a safety barrier, a loading dock, a
passage between two buildings — and the machine you already own,
the one that does something else the rest of the year.
If you are clearing a road run,
it is another carrier you need, and we will tell you so.
On which machine?
A snow blade attaches with a universal plate.
It weighs from 235 to 450 kg depending on the model, to be checked with you.
The suitable carrier class: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What the tool does
It clears snow with a blade 1 500 to 2 700 mm wide and 70 or 80 cm high.
Double-acting hydraulic rams angle it to the right and to the left.
When it meets an obstacle, it swings back thanks to shock-absorbing springs.
It is supplied with hoses, stands, flags, clearance lights and CE guards.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
In the fixed version, it needs no hydraulic connection.
Swivelling needs a double-acting hydraulic circuit.
The flow and pressure: we calculate them with you for your machine.

Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Have your machine checked.
Give us your excavator model, the width of the narrowest passage to be cleared
and the nature of the ground.
If the snow clearing is to be followed by a treatment,
say so:
blade and spreader are chosen
together.
- Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
- The coupler in place Its system and its class.
- The work The use, and the material.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The width, chosen on the narrowest passage
Not on the widest.
A blade that does not fit through the access to be cleared forces you to go back over it by hand, and the gain in output disappears. -
02 — The angling, manual or hydraulic
A blade that can be angled from the cab changes side without getting out.
On a round with many changes, that is what makes the difference in time.
It calls in return for an auxiliary line. -
03 — The wear edge, according to the surfacing
A rubber or polyurethane edge respects a paved surface, a new asphalt or a
resin floor.
A steel edge scrapes packed snow better but marks fragile surfaces.
It is the ground that decides, not the snow. -
04 — The trip release on an obstacle
A chamber cover, a kerb or a speed hump caught under the snow are invisible.
A system that lets the blade tip absorbs the impact instead of passing it on to the tool, the arm and the street furniture.
What is checked before ordering
- The auxiliary line, if the blade can be angled A fixed blade calls for none; it is the angling that creates the need. See the 7 criteria.
-
The weight and the overhang
A wide blade is above all a lever arm.
Pushed forward, with the machine extended, it loads stability more than its weight would lead you to think. -
The nature of the surfaces to be treated
Paving, asphalt, concrete, gravel, car park slab:
the choice of wear edge follows directly from it.
Describe them to us, it is the point that avoids damage. -
The interface
Coupler type and size, or pin dimensions.
The tool is supplied with the matching plate — see the couplers.
