The tooth wears, the tooth is replaced.
The body of the bucket, for its part, must never touch the ground.

What it is for
Right: with the teeth worn down to the tooth holder, the edge of the bucket wears in turn.
What sets it apart:
as long as the teeth are in place, the edge of the bucket does not rub — that is the whole point of the arrangement.

A worn tooth is changed on its own; the bucket stays.

it has lost its point, and it is the point that penetrates.

A bolt-on tooth is two parts:
an adapter fixed to the edge, and a tooth that fits onto it and locks.
The second wears and is changed on site;
the first lasts several sets of teeth.
The point of it is in one sentence:
as long as the teeth are in place, the edge of the bucket does not rub.
A bucket whose teeth have been allowed to wear down to the adapter starts to consume its own body, and that wear cannot be replaced.
A set of teeth is not chosen on the day it breaks. A torn-off adapter ties up the bucket and is dealt with by welding, not in five minutes.
The question to ask before buying is that of the lead time for the teeth, not that of their unit price.
On which machine?
They exist for machines from 10 to 50 t.
For example, on a 10 to 20 t excavator, the weight is generally from 184 to 1 250 kg.
It fits all couplers, via a mounting plate.
It is compatible with a tiltrotator or a tilting coupler, to be checked with you.
What the tool does
For example, for a width of 1 000 mm: capacity from 460 to 1 265 l, number of teeth from 4 to 5.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It needs no hydraulic connection: it is a passive tool.

Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Have your machine checked.
Tell us what you are digging and what tooth system you already use.
If the answer is “I don't know”, a photograph of the edge of the bucket is enough.
- Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
- The coupler in place Its system and its class.
- The work The use, and the material.

the welded adapter, which stays, and the fitted tooth, which is consumed.
Confusing the two when ordering costs a trip to the workshop.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The profile of the tooth
Pointed to penetrate, wide so as not to sink in:
it is the ground that decides. -
02 — The number and the spacing
Teeth close together penetrate less and load better.
Spaced out, it is the opposite. -
03 — The locking system
Pin, wedge, tool-free locking:
it is that movement the driver will repeat dozens of times. -
04 — The family of adapters
It commits you for the whole life of the bucket:
changing it means reworking the edge.
What is checked before ordering
-
The nature of the ground
And how variable it is:
a job that changes ground wears out two sets of teeth. - The system already in service in the fleet A second system means a second stock to keep.
- The availability of the teeth Lead time, and not only price.
- The interface Coupler designation or pin dimensions.
