A working bucket with the teeth taken off.
It loads and it picks up again:
but it leaves no furrow behind it.

Right: on undisturbed ground, the smooth edge slides instead of penetrating.
What sets it apart:
with no teeth, it does not penetrate — it comes after the toothed bucket, never in its place.

It is not the ditching bucket, which is wide and made for profiling a bank or a ditch.
It is a bucket of ordinary width, with a straight edge, used where a tooth would do damage:
a graded formation, a slab, asphalt, an accepted surface.

It also serves for picking up:
loading a heap of sand or granular fill set on a platform, without tearing up the platform with it.
On a site in the finishing phase, it is often the only bucket that stays fitted.

With no teeth, it does not penetrate. Attacking ground in place with a smooth edge makes the bucket slide and tires the curl ram.
The smooth bucket comes after the toothed bucket, never in its place. See the bucket with bolt-on teeth.

02 What we check with you

On which machine?

A smooth bucket fits all excavator classes.
It attaches to all couplers, via a mounting plate.

What the tool does

Toothless, it is used for digging and ditching.
The volume, the cutting width and the weight: we calculate them with you for your machine.

What is needed on the hydraulic side

It is a passive tool: it needs no hydraulic connection.

Your study sets the exact value for your machine.

Don't have these figures?
A photo of the machine is enough to start.

03 Your study

Have your machine checked.

Tell us what surface you are working on and what you are picking up.
If the word “ditch” appears in your answer, it is the ditching bucket you should look at.

What we need to answer you
  • Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
  • The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
  • The coupler in place Its system and its class.
  • The work The use, and the material.

Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

Smooth toothless bucket picking up a heap of granular fill on an already graded formation, the platform untouched around it
The platform is not marked. A tooth, here, leaves a furrow — and a furrow on a finished formation is a job to be done again.

04 Choice

What determines the choice

  • 01 — The width, taken from the pick-up Here it is the passage and the heap that govern, not a section to be dug.
  • 02 — The edge A bolted blade or a hard-faced edge:
the first is replaced, the second is welded up again.
  • 03 — The profile of the bottom A bottom that is too deep keeps sticky material;
a bottom that is too flat empties badly at height.
  • 04 — The side protections They are what stops the corner from opening out when you scrape along a wall.
05 Check

What is checked before ordering

  • The surface that must not be marked A formation, a slab, asphalt:
say so, it changes the edge.
  • The material to be picked up Sticky or free-running, it is not the same bottom.
  • The load chart at the pick-up reach Bucket full, arm extended.
  • The interface Coupler designation or pin dimensions.
