Quarry bucket
A production tool, not a site tool.
It is sized by the cycle:
so many lorries in the day, every day, in the same material.
Other names for this tool: quarry loading bucket, production bucket, heavy handling bucket, gravel pit bucket.

What it is for
Right: bucket after bucket, it fills the dump trucks all day long.
What sets it apart:
the logic is not that of earthmoving — what you look for is the cost of the tonne, not versatility.
Computer-generated image.
In a quarry, the bucket does only one thing and it does it all day:
picking up blasted material and filling a lorry or a hopper.
The body is massive, the protections are everywhere, and the wear parts are chosen so that they can be changed quickly.
The logic is not that of earthmoving.
You do not look for versatility in it:
you look for the cost of the tonne loaded, which is decided by the filling, by the cycle time and by the downtime for wear.
A quarry bucket is not a rock bucket made bigger. The rock bucket picks up here and there what a breaker has fractured;
this one is a production station whose wear is planned, budgeted and replaced in series.
Confusing the two is paid for in downtime. See the rock bucket.
On which machine?
A quarry bucket fits excavators from 12 to 52 t.
On an excavator from 10 to 20 t: a bucket from 560 to 1 400 kg.
On an excavator over 20 t: from 770 to 3 000 kg.
It attaches to all couplers, via a mounting plate.
What the tool does
It holds from 0,47 to 2,8 m³, for a width of 800 to 1 400 mm.
It is made of wear-resistant steel, with reinforcements and wear strips.
It is available with a delta or semi-delta cutting edge, to be checked with you.
The most common widths are 1 000 and 1 350 mm, to be checked with you.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It is a passive tool: it needs no hydraulic connection.

Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Have your machine checked.
Tell us what you load, into what, and at what rate.
The volume is deduced from the cycle and the density — never from the tonnage of the machine alone.
- Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
- The coupler in place Its system and its class.
- The work The use, and the material.
Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

What determines the choice
- 01 — The density of the material It fixes the volume, and it fixes it alone.
- 02 — The cycle time aimed at A bucket that is too big slows the filling as much as it reduces the number of passes.
-
03 — The wear plan
Teeth, corner protectors, bottom, sides:
each area has its rate and its lead time. - 04 — The dumping height available The bucket has to pass above the side of the body, full, without the machine forcing.
What is checked before ordering
- The material and its particle size Described, and if possible photographed on the heap.
- The real cycle Distance, height, and number of buckets per lorry.
- The load chart at the loading reach Bucket full of the real material, not of soil.
- The logistics of the wear parts A set of teeth in stock is worth more than a set on order.
