Rock bucket
provided it is done before the edge is eaten into.
Synthetic image.
Closed profile, reinforced edge, teeth made to penetrate.
It loads what has already been broken up — it does not break it up.
Other names for this tool: rocky ground bucket, light quarry bucket, reinforced rock bucket.

What it is for
Right: against solid rock in place, it breaks its teeth without fracturing it.
What sets it apart:
its closed geometry keeps the coarse material inside, instead of letting it roll over the edge.
Computer-generated image.
Its geometry is more closed than that of an earthmoving bucket:
the coarse material stays inside instead of rolling over the edge.
The teeth are longer and sharper, so as to slip between the blocks.
It works after the breaker or after the blasting:
its role is to pick up and load material that is already broken, not to break.
A bucket, even a rock bucket, is not a fracturing tool. Attacking rock in place with the teeth breaks the tooth adapters, ovalises the pins and tires the dipper arm.
If the rock is in place, it is another tool you need. See the breaker.
On which machine?
They exist for machines from 12 to 50 t.
For example, on an excavator over 20 t, the weight is generally from 716 to 3 040 kg.
It fits all quick couplers, via a mounting plate, or directly on the pins.
What the tool does
It is made of wear-resistant steel, on an S355 steel structure, with reinforcements and wear strips.
For example, for a width of 1 200 mm: capacity from 632 to 1 415 l, number of teeth from 4 to 5.
It is available with corner and edge protection, or with a delta or semi-delta cutting edge, to be checked with you.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It is a passive tool: it needs no hydraulic connection.

Have your machine checked.
Tell us what you load, in what form it arrives, and what breaks it upstream.
If nothing breaks it, let us say so straight away.
- Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.

the bucket loads them, it does not break them.
Attacking rock in place with the teeth breaks the tooth adapters before the rock.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The state of the material
Fractured or in place:
it is not the same question, nor the same tool. - 02 — The particle size Blocks that will not go in do not get loaded, whatever the capacity announced.
-
03 — The type of teeth
Penetrating to slip in, wide so as not to sink in:
the choice is made on the material. - 04 — The weight in relation to the carrier A rock bucket is heavy by construction.
What is checked before ordering
- The nature and size of the blocks Described, and if possible photographed.
- What fractures upstream A breaker, blasting, or nothing at all.
- The machine's load chart Bucket full of dense material, not of soil.
- The interface and the condition of the bores The forces here are more violent than in ordinary earthmoving.
