Breaker point and chisel
the point perforates, the chisel splits, the wide one strips.
Illustration based on an existing product.
It is the part that touches the material, so the part that wears.
The profile is chosen on what is being broken;
the service life is decided by the maintenance.
Other names for this tool: breaker chisel, breaker point, striking tool, hydraulic hammer chisel, hammer spade.

What it is for
Right: the common profiles side by side, and a battered point with a flattened tip.
What sets it apart:
it is the dominant material that designates the profile — never the size of the hammer.
Computer-generated image.
and it is the breaker that takes what it no longer transmits.
Synthetic image.
The hammer strikes, the tool transmits.
Four profiles are commonly met with:
the point, the chisel, the flat tool and the tool with a blunt end.
They differ in the way the energy reaches the material:
concentrated at a point, aligned on an edge, or spread over a surface.
The choice is made on the material, and the breaker page already gives the usual correspondences:
the point for rock, the chisel for concrete, the spade for asphalt.
There is no table that would hold for every case:
a blinding concrete and a heavily reinforced wall do not wear the same tool, in the same place, at the same rate.
Two movements destroy a striking tool faster than the work itself: striking with nothing under it, and using the point as a lever to tip a block over.
The first tires the hammer, the second breaks the point.
They are driving habits, and they can be corrected without buying anything.
On which machine?
The point or chisel fits on the breaker and depends on its model: diameter, working length and retaining system.
The machine class depends on the hammer: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What the tool does
On a hammer for an excavator from 0,5 to 1,6 t, the tool is 40 mm in diameter.
On a hammer for an excavator from 7 to 13 t, it is 85 mm in diameter.
Its working length ranges from 200 to 300 mm on hammers for excavators from 0,5 to 8,5 t.
The weight of the part: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It needs no hydraulic connection: it is a wear part.
Figures taken from our models on the market.
Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Have your machine checked.
Tell us the model of your hammer and describe what you break most often.
If you see abnormal wear, describe it too:
it often tells the story of the driving.
- Your machine Its exact make and model.
- What is fitted What equips the machine today.
- The work What the machine is used for.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The dominant material
Rock, concrete, asphalt, masonry:
it is what designates the profile, not the size of the hammer. -
02 — The form of the work
Perforating, splitting, stripping:
they are neither the same movement, nor the same working edge. -
03 — The match with the hammer
The point belongs to the hammer model:
diameter, useful length, retaining system.
It is not a universal part. -
04 — Supply
A striking tool is a consumable.
Its availability counts as much as its profile.
What is checked before ordering
- The exact model of your hammer The point relates to it, not to the tonnage of the excavator.
- The condition of the guide bushes A new point in worn bushes works at an angle and breaks.
- The greasing Type of grease, frequency, and who is responsible for it on the site.
- The spare set to be provided for A site stopped for want of a point costs more than the point.
