Bale clamp
Synthetic image.
Two arms that close by means of a ram.
They grip the bale from the sides,
load it and stack it without piercing it.
Other names for this tool: bale gripper, bale squeeze, wrapped bale clamp, square bale clamp.

- A front loader, a telehandler or a tractor, not an excavator
What it is for
Right: the bale spike pierces the bale wrap and lets the air in.
What sets it apart:
the bale is held by pressure on the sides, no spike goes through it.
Computer-generated image.
Two thin, curved arms close by means of a ram on the sides of the bale and hold it with equal pressure on both sides.
Depending on the model, the clamp takes round bales, square bales, or both, and some carry several at once.
It is the tool of baled silage work, hay and straw storage, and loading flatbed trailers.
It replaces the bale spike when the bale is wrapped, because a spike that pierces the film lets air in and spoils the forage.
A bale gripped too tightly deforms, a bale not gripped tightly enough slips. The pressure is judged on the actual bale, not once and for all.
The permissible bale weight depends on the model, not on a generic figure.
On which machine?
A bale clamp fits a front loader, a telehandler or a tractor, not an excavator.
Depending on the model, it hitches to a Euro hitch or the three-point linkage.
The tractor power, the linkage category and the lifting capacity: we calculate them with you for your machine.
What the tool does
It is used for handling bales.
Its working width and its weight: we calculate them with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It works hydraulically, on one or two spool valves depending on the model.
The exact number of spool valves and the third function on the loader: we calculate them with you for your machine.
Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Don't have these figures?
A photo of the machine is enough to start.
Have your equipment checked.
Describe your bales, round or square, wrapped or not, and the machine that will carry them.
Specify how they are stacked.
- On a tractor Its power in hp, and the power take-off speed: 540 or 1000 rpm.
- The tractor hitch The three-point linkage category, and the spool valves available.
- On a loader Its hitch, Euro or another, and its lifting capacity.
- The 3rd function Present or not.
- The work The use.
Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The bales to handle Round, square, wrapped, dry or wet:
the shape of the arms and their opening are chosen with the bales actually produced. -
02 — One bale or several Single grip for stacking, multiple grip for fast loading:
the pace of the job decides. -
03 — The machine available Loader, telehandler, tractor linkage:
the clamp is chosen with the machine that carries it, bale gripped and raised. -
04 — Stacking Height of the stacks, bales set on their flat face or on their round side:
thin arms slip between two bales already in place.
What is checked before ordering
- The capacity of the machine It is checked with the heaviest bale, gripped and raised, not with the figure of the machine when empty.
-
The hydraulics One or two spool valves depending on the model:
we check that the machine controls the closing and holds it. -
The hitch Loader or telehandler coupler, or linkage:
we check that the coupling is that of the machine.
