Farm loader bucket

A farm loader raises a large bucket filled with maize silage and pours it over the side of a trailer, in a farmyard; no one is visible. — A wide bucket for a light material, a reinforced bucket for stone.

What it is for

The loader bucket takes the material flat, from the heap or from the ground, and empties it by tipping with the loader.
Depending on the model, it is more or less deep and reinforced, tips high by its own ram, pushes the material out with a sliding wall or lets it pass between bars.

It is the everyday tool on the farm, at the silo, on the composting platform and at the wood yard.
The specialised versions sort logs, clean soil off potatoes, pick up stones, transfer grain or dose bulk into big bags.

A bucket too large for a heavy material exceeds the capacity of the loader before it is full. The volume is chosen with the density of the material.
The useful capacity depends on the model, not on a generic figure.

01 — The material Grain, silage, wood chips, soil, gravel, stone:
its density sets the volume, the reinforcement and the cutting edge of the bucket.
02 — Where it is emptied On the heap, into a high trailer, into a hopper:
a high-tip bucket or a transfer bucket gains the height the loader lacks.
03 — Sort or carry Bars to screen wood or clean tubers, tines for stones, a solid floor for the rest:
the work decides the shape.
04 — The machine and the hitch Loader, telehandler, Euro hitch, linkage, forklift carriage:
the bucket is chosen with the machine that carries it, full.

The capacity of the loader It is checked with the bucket full of the heaviest material, not with its volume alone.
