Klac system
the hook that takes the pin, the locks and their position indicator.
The image shows the principle common to all standards, not one standard in particular.
Illustration based on an existing product.
A French system, very present on the mini-excavator market.
Modules identified by a letter, C to F and beyond.
Other names for this tool: Klac coupler, Klac module, Klac quick coupler.

What it is for
Right: two mini-excavators on the same standard share the same row of tools.
What sets it apart:
the module is spelled out on the coupler — C, D, E or F.
Computer-generated image.
On small machines it takes the place that the S type and the CW type take on medium and large ones.
In France, a mini-excavator hire company is very likely to have some in its fleet.
Identification is by a letter, not by a number:
it is a difference of form, not of substance.
The principle remains that of a single interface at the end of the dipper arm and one mounting plate per tool.
Our sources do not agree on the upper limit of one of the modules. We do not settle it for you:
on the modules concerned, the check is made on your machine, in the study. See why we leave boxes empty.
On which machine?
It fits micro-excavators, mini-excavators and the small classes, depending on the module.
It requires a Klac coupler in place, whether its locking is mechanical or hydraulic.
The exact class: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What the tool does
It couples and adapts tools to the Klac standard, depending on the module.
The weight of each module: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
Depending on the module, it works mechanically or hydraulically.
For a hydraulic module, the flow and the pressure: we calculate them with you for your machine.

Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Have your machine checked.
Tell us the letter marked on your coupler and the model of your mini-excavator.
A photograph of the end of the dipper arm is enough if the letter is illegible.
- Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
- The coupler in place Its system and its class.
- The work The use, and the material.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The module, read on the coupler
The letter is marked on the coupler.
It is the most reliable reading.
The common sizes read C, D, E or F. -
02 — The class of the machine
It confirms the module, without replacing it:
the ranges announced by dealers overlap. -
03 — The hire fleet
Many mini-excavators hired in France are fitted this way.
If you alternate between a hired machine and your own, that weighs. - 04 — The availability of mounting plates The system is widely distributed in France, which counts in its favour on lead times.
What is checked before ordering
- The letter of the module Read off the coupler.
- The version, mechanical or hydraulic It changes what the machine has to supply.
- The real tonnage of the machine In running order, not the sales tonnage.
- The tools already in service They impose the standard of the next one.
