Morin system
the hook that takes the pin, the locks and their position indicator.
The image shows the principle common to all standards, not one standard in particular.
Illustration based on an existing product.
A French system with play take-up, modules M0 to M9.
Common in the hire trade, and recognisable in that it compensates for wear instead of suffering it.
Other names for this tool: Morin coupler, Morin module, play take-up coupler.

What it is for
Right: with play in the coupler, the bucket knocks and the bottom ripples.
What sets it apart:
modules 1 to 6 cover the machines, 7 is reserved for attachments.
Computer-generated image.
Its technical particularity is the automatic take-up of play.
With wear, play sets in between the coupler and the tool:
it is barely visible, and it costs dear.
That play tires the pins and the dipper arm, ovalises the bores and degrades the accuracy at the end of the tool.
A compensating device takes it up continuously, with no periodic adjustment.
A few millimetres of play at the coupler become several centimetres at the end of the tool. It shows first on finishing work, and it is paid for afterwards on the bill for pins. See the play take-up.
On which machine?
They exist for machines from 7,5 to 50 t.
For example, on a 10 to 20 t excavator, the weight is generally from 151 to 224 kg.
The Morin system is a coupler to the Morin standard, for small and medium classes.
What the tool does
It couples the tool to the machine, with automatic locking and safety and a correct-coupling indicator.
Locking is mechanical on modules 0 to 4, or hydraulic on modules 1 to 7.
On modules 0 to 4, the width ranges from 70 to 232 mm and the diameter from 55 to 200 mm.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
Depending on the module, it is mechanical or operated by a double-acting hydraulic cylinder.
The flow and the pressure: we calculate them with you for your machine.
Figures taken from 7 models on the market.
Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Have your machine checked.
Tell us the module marked on your coupler and the model of your excavator.
If you can already see play, say so:
it changes the answer.
- Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
- The coupler in place Its system and its class.
- The work The use, and the material.
Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The module, read on the coupler
Identified by the letter M followed by a figure.
Modules 1 to 6 cover the machines;
module 7 is reserved for attachments and buckets. - 02 — The nature of the work The take-up is all the more justified the more precise the work and the longer the tool.
- 03 — The age of the fleet On a machine that already has play, the gain is immediate and measurable.
-
04 — Consistency with the existing tools
As for any standard:
it is the mounting plate that adapts, not the machine.
What is checked before ordering
- The exact module Read off the coupler.
- The present condition of the bores A bore already ovalised is dealt with before, not after.
- The tonnage and model of the machine They confirm the module.
-
The higher modules
The ranges of the high modules have not been confirmed to us:
they are checked in the study.
