Martin system
the hook that takes the pin, the locks and their position indicator.
The image shows the principle common to all standards, not one standard in particular.
Illustration based on an existing product.
A coupler met with on the French market, above all in the small classes.
It is read off the machine, never from a sales sheet.
Other names for this tool: Martin coupler, Martin quick coupler, Martin-type quick coupler.

What it is for
Right: two couplers that look alike but are not interchangeable.
What sets it apart:
it is a proprietary standard, which no appearance allows you to confirm by eye.
Computer-generated image.
Like any proprietary standard, it answers the same need as the others:
a single interface at the end of the dipper arm, one mounting plate per tool, and changing tools without knocking out a pin.
What makes it delicate is not its mechanics, it is recognising it:
several small-class standards look alike from a distance.
Two couplers of similar appearance are not interchangeable for all that, and that is the mistake that costs the most.
We publish no dimension and no tonnage range for this standard. We hold none that we can show, and an empty box is better than an unverifiable figure.
The check is made on your machine, in the study. See why we leave boxes empty.
On which machine?
This coupler system fits excavators from 1,8 to 26 t.
It follows a proprietary standard.
What the tool does
It is used to connect and adapt the tool to the excavator.
The weight of the tool: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
Depending on the version, it is mechanical or hydraulic.
For the hydraulic version, the flow and pressure: we calculate them with you for your machine.
Figures taken from 4 models on the market.
Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Have your machine checked.
Send us two photographs of the end of the dipper arm and the model of your machine.
We will tell you what fits on it, without your having to name the standard yourself.
- Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
- The coupler in place Its system and its class.
- The work The use, and the material.
Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The coupler actually fitted, read on the machine
A standard's name given from memory is not worth a reading.
It is the only reading on which we will commit an order. -
02 — What your fleet already carries
Staying with one standard avoids multiplying mounting plates.
Changing it is decided once, not tool by tool. -
03 — The version, mechanical or hydraulic
The hydraulic one locks from the cab and assumes a dedicated line.
That line is checked before the tool is bought. -
04 — Obtaining the mounting plates
A less widely distributed standard is paid for in lead time more than in price.
It is a point the study prices case by case.
What is checked before ordering
-
Two photographs of the end of the dipper arm
One from the side, one from the front.
Between them, they almost always contain enough to identify the interface. -
The engraving or the plate, if it survives
It sometimes carries a reference.
Worn away, it proves nothing, and the photograph takes over. - The model and year of the machine They serve to cross-check the reading, not to replace it.
- The presence of a hydraulic line at the end of the dipper arm It settles the choice between the mechanical version and the hydraulic version.
- The condition of the locks and of their indicator An indicator that does not return to position is a repair to be dealt with before any tool is bought.
