Stripping bucket
Wide, toothless, and capacious all the same.
It takes off a layer of constant thickness over a whole area — and it moves the volume of it.
Other names for this tool: overburden bucket, topsoil bucket, surface stripping bucket, wide earthmoving bucket.

What it is for
Right: the grading bucket, for its part, sets a slope without carrying any volume.
What sets it apart:
grading sets a slope, stripping takes off a thickness — and carries it.

Stripping means taking off a given thickness over a whole area:
the topsoil before earthworks, a layer to be carted away before filling, the old formation before reinstatement.
The width makes the output, and the absence of teeth makes the regularity.
It differs from the grading bucket in what is asked of it:
grading sets a slope, stripping takes off a thickness and carries it.
The second is therefore deeper and more capacious than the first.
A stripping bucket is a very long lever arm. Its width and its volume add up at the end of the dipper arm, and the load chart empties faster than you imagine.
On a machine that is only just big enough, you strip less wide and you move faster.
On which machine?
A stripping bucket fits excavators from 2 to 20 t.
It fits all couplers, via a mounting plate.
What the tool does
It is used for stripping.
The weight of the tool: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It needs no hydraulic connection: it is a passive tool.
Figures taken from our models on the market.
Your study sets the exact value for your machine.
Have your machine checked.
Give us the area to be stripped, the thickness aimed at and where the soil has to go.
Those three pieces of information are enough to say what width your machine will take.
- Your machine Its make and its tonnage.
- The auxiliary circuit Its flow in l/min, its pressure in bar, single- or double-acting.
- The coupler in place Its system and its class.
- The work The use, and the material.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The width, taken from the area
It decides the output and it eats into the load chart:
the two pull in opposite directions. - 02 — The depth of the body It is what separates a bucket that grades from a bucket that carries.
- 03 — The edge A straight bolted blade for regularity, protected for durability.
- 04 — The tilt Stripping along a cross slope without being able to tilt the tool means leaving steps.
What is checked before ordering
- The thickness to be taken off and the area They give the volume, so the number of rotations.
-
What becomes of the stripped soil
Stockpiled on the spot or carted away:
that changes the tool as much as the station. - The working reach And the load chart at that reach, bucket full.
- The interface Coupler designation or pin dimensions.
