Steel tracks
that is what makes it repairable part by part.
Illustration based on an existing product.
Where rubber cuts, steel holds.
In exchange, it marks the ground, it is heavy, and it makes noise:
it is a choice of ground, not a choice of quality.
Other names for this part: steel track, metal track, steel undercarriage, track chain.

What it is for
Right: on finished asphalt, the steel pads mark the surface.
What sets it apart:
it is a repairable part, where a rubber track is replaced whole.
Computer-generated image.
A steel track is a chain of links onto which pads are bolted.
That construction makes it a repairable part:
a link, a pad, a pin are replaced without changing the whole.
It is the choice for ground that cuts — rock, scrap, demolition fill — and for work that lasts.
On a finished surface it is to be ruled out, or fitted with over-pads.
A steel track does not wear on its own: it wears the sprocket and the rollers, and lets itself be worn by them.
Changing the track without looking at the rest of the undercarriage means buying twice.
On which machine?
A steel track fits machines from 1 to 65 t, depending on the chassis.
It is fitted to replace the original track, as an undercarriage part.
What the tool does
Its pads range from 220 to 1 200 mm wide.
A wide pad bears on soft ground; a narrow one gives stability and traction on hard ground.
The weight of the part: we calculate it with you for your machine.
What is needed on the hydraulic side
It needs no hydraulic connection: it is a part of the machine.

What determines the choice
-
01 — The pitch and the number of links
They belong to the undercarriage, not to the commercial model.
Two machines of the same tonnage do not necessarily have the same pitch. -
02 — The pad width
Wide to float on soft ground, narrow for stability and traction on hard ground.
Too wide on rocky ground:
the pads bend. -
03 — The type of pad
Single, double or triple grouser:
the single grouser digs in and grips, the three grousers spare the ground. -
04 — The sealing of the pins
Greased chains or sealed-for-life chains:
the difference is paid for at purchase and recovered in service life.
What is checked before ordering
- Record the pitch, the pad width and the number of links on the track fitted.
- Measure the wear of the sprocket:
its teeth sharpen to a point when it is finished.
A new track on it will be destroyed. - Count the cracked or bent pads — beyond a few, the chain has worked beyond its width.
- Plan for the handling:
a steel track for a 20 t machine is taken off by two people and a machine, not by hand.
