Feeding and ensiling

Manure fork, cutting fork and loader extension

A farm loader holds a round silage bale gripped in a grab with tines and a cutting bar, above the tub of a feed mixer, the bale sliced into two halves; nobody is visible.
The bale falls in two halves, the mixer works less.
Synthetic image.

Tines for manure, blades for silage and bales,
and an arm that extends the loader.
Simple tools for the barn and the silo.

Other names for this tool: barn fork, loader tine fork, bale cutter grab, bale cutter, silage block cutter, silage unloading fork with blade, front loader extension.

The essentials
Family
Feeding and ensiling
Hitch
Euro hitch, farm loader, wheel loader, telehandler or three-point linkage, depending on the model
Drive
None for the fork and the extension, hydraulic for the cutting grab and the cutting fork
Carrier machine
A farm loader, a telehandler, a wheel loader or a tractor, not an excavator

01 Use

What they are for

On the left, the manure fork spears the heap and loads it without packing it down. On the right, the cutting grab holds the round bale and slices it in two. Computer-generated image.

Right: the cutting grab holds the round bale and slices it in two.
What sets them apart:
the fork spears, the cutting grab and the cutting fork slice, the extension lengthens the loader arm.
Computer-generated image.

The manure fork carries a row of forged loader tines, screwed into a reinforced tine bar with conical sockets.
The cutting grab spears a round bale of silage, straw or hay and slices it in two with a blade bar; the fork with cutting blade cuts a clean block from the silo face or from a bale.

This is the equipment of the barn, the silo and the feed mixer.
A bale cut in two mixes better and wears the mixer less, a face cut clean does not start fermenting again, and the loader extension, fitted with a blade, pushes grain or cereals to the top of the heap.

A cutting blade also slices whatever is in front of it. Nobody approaches the blades or the tines until the tool is set down on the ground, hydraulics stopped.
The permissible load and the reach of the extension depend on the model, not on a generic figure.

02 What we check with you

On which machine?

They fit on a farm loader, a telehandler, a wheel loader or a tractor, not on an excavator.
They are hitched by a Euro hitch, on a loader or to the three-point linkage, depending on the model.
The tractor power, the hitches and the lifting capacity: we calculate them with you for your machine.

What the tool does

The range includes a manure fork, a cutting fork and a loader extension.
The working width and the weight of the tool: we calculate them with you for your machine.

What is needed on the hydraulic side

The fork and the extension need no hydraulic connection.
The cutting clamp and the cutting fork are driven hydraulically.
The spool valves, the third function and any power take-off: we calculate them with you for your machine.

Your study sets the exact value for your machine.

Don't have these figures?
A photo of the machine is enough to start.

03 Your study

Have your equipment checked.

Describe the work, manure, bales or silo, and the machine that will carry the tool.
Specify whether a feed mixer is supplied.

What we need to answer you
  • On a tractor Its power in hp, and the power take-off speed: 540 or 1000 rpm.
  • The tractor hitch The three-point linkage category, and the spool valves available.
  • On a loader Its hitch, Euro or another, and its lifting capacity.
  • The 3rd function Present or not.
  • The work The use.

Without these details, the study still begins: we will ask you for them.

04 Choice

What determines the choice

  • 01 — The work Loading manure, opening a bale for the mixer, unloading a clean block, pushing bulk material up high:
each tool does only one of these jobs, and does it well.
  • 02 — The material Strawy manure, grass or maize silage, round bale, bulk grain:
the tines, the blades and the maize plate are chosen with it.
  • 03 — The machine and the hitch Loader, telehandler, wheel loader, Euro hitch, three-point linkage:
the tool is chosen with the machine that carries it, and the extension takes a three-point tool at its end.
  • 04 — The hydraulics None for the fork and the extension, one double-acting control for the cutting grab and the cutting fork:
the machine decides what can be fitted.
05 Check

What is checked before ordering

  • The capacity of the loader It is checked with the bale or block raised, and at the end of the extension, not with the figure of the empty machine.
  • The hydraulics One double-acting control for the cutting grab and the cutting fork:
we check that the machine provides it and holds it.
  • The hitch Euro hitch, loader or telehandler coupler, three-point linkage:
we check that the coupling is that of the machine, and that of the tool at the end of the extension.
  • Tines and blades They wear and become blunt:
we check that they can be replaced or sharpened without changing the whole tool.
