The shear grips and slices the branch between hard-steel blades, the hedge trimmer cuts it in passing between fine-toothed knives or two crossing blades.
Depending on the model, the bar swings out to the side, tilts to trim the top, the side or the foot of the hedge, and a counterweight balances the machine.

The tool-carrier arm, hitched to the three-point linkage, preferably at the rear, carries the cutting head or a mulcher far to the side, above a ditch, an embankment or under trees.
This is the equipment for maintaining hedges, track edges, orchards and woodland edges, for the farm, the municipality or the landscaping company.

Cutting at the end of an offset arm loads only one side of the machine. Stability is judged with the arm extended and tilted, not folded.
The permissible branch section and the reach depend on the model, not on a generic figure.

What determines the choice

01 — What you cut The year's shoots, thick hedge, branches, young trees:
fine hedge trimmer, double blade or shear is chosen with the section of the wood.
02 — Where you cut Hedge top, side, foot of an embankment, beyond a ditch:
the side reach and the tilt of the bar decide.
03 — The machine and the hitch Euro hitch, loader, telehandler, three-point arm:
the head is chosen with the machine that carries it and the side on which it works.
04 — One head or several An arm with a quick coupler takes shear, hedge trimmer or mulcher in turn:
it is justified when the same tractor does all the maintenance.

05 Check

What is checked before ordering

Flow and spool valves They are checked on the actual machine:
the blade must cut clean, and the arm keep its control during cutting.
Stability It is checked with the arm extended, head tilted, counterweight in place.
